I have a son and a daughter. The son is like yourself, he would be fine if SHTF. The daughter is like my mother, just go buy it, and above all else, don't get dirty. Her husband fancies himself a hunter, but to my knowledge, his efforts at bow hunting have yielded nothing but some time out in the woods for him. They at least will eat meat that I raise and don't recoil because they think it was "cute."

I guess I got Lucky, my son and daughter both are like me. My daughter was helping me skin deer when she was a young teenager, now she is in her 2nd year of nursing school. She finds anatomy fascinating, I'm not saying deer guts prepared her for a career in nursing, but I'd like to think all that blood and guts primed her mentally for the sight in a ER. You could spend 10 minutes with either of my kids and you would know right away they are cut from a different kind of cloth. They both make me very proud.

I was going to go out this season with my bow but saw stress fractures along the limbs. Took it to the bow shop and confirmed I was sitting on a time bomb so it's done. Ill get one again at some point but right now that seasons done.

Otherwise I'll be out for regular rifle season, and muzzleloader trying to fill our freezer.

If it wasn't an all day drive I'd already have said hi.

Yeah I pulled it out honestly to see about going to a single pin system. They have them where you can dial your yardage on the sight and its on. Its crazy cool. I hadn't bought it but was also kicking around a few other ideas to make it better. Saw that and went "uh oh...." just glad I didn't get injured. At the speeds my bow was rated for would have been a trip to ER and then consult with a hand specialist or a plastics Dr to repair my face.

I believe @canesisters has same amount of deer. I think she hit one in her driveway
I have lost count of how many deer I've hit - or been hit by. My bumper, grill, head/signal lights are once again (3rd time) being held on by Gorilla Tape. Never bothered to have the dent in the hood or the one behind the driver's door fixed. I'm considering those trophies of the bucks that hit me hard enough to move the parked truck.
