DH mowed with the tractor Saturday, then DD's mowed with the Godmower and push mower yesterday. I little bit scalped, but loads of love to my help!!
God must have heard, rain scheduled for 2PM today.
I checked on my two pepper pots, the ones I can see through the DR window, that have no drainage and the ones that I filled up enough to see the water. Doing Great!
The only job I got to was pulling the pickup garbage container over to the front yard and depositing probably a 40 gallon trash bag's worth of bindweed that I had pulled off on Saturday and piled on the sidewalks.
I also planted a medium sized plastic pot with zinnias, 6 orange nasturtiums, and some marigolds. I prepped the pot by putting down some used coffee grounds and their filters, all of the shells from 12 HB eggs, and 1/2 (small) bucket of soggy compost, in the pot where I earlier, in late May, staged my tomato plants, then topped with potting soil. I poured a full pitcher of water in and then covered with a white plastic biodegradable garbage bag, securing on the bottom of the pot to keep it from blowing away. I could see the condensation on the bag yesterday.
We keep thinking that Illinois is a wet state, now I'm thinking we Always have a summer drought. :(
After todays/tonight's rain I will check on the Eva pot with forget me nots, probably add some more seeds and do the same with another garbage bag.

DD's have promised that we will saw down ALL BURDOCK along the east 1/2 of the south fence of the north pasture before my October Salsa Party: Salsa 14: The Usual Suspects. There isn't any burdock on the west 1/2.
I think that the (now) 17yr mower kid at DD's church is interested in our trailer, which is trailor made to tow a riding mower. Right now he only has a truck and I understand that he is trading up for a better truck. This trailer has a ramp and open holes to pass ratcheting straps

through to secure a riding mower in transit.
We will be happy to make him a sweet deal, since it's harder and harder to find mower repair people.
The trailer needs new wiring, but I don't think that will be a problem for him, either.
I have My eye on a metal trailer with open weave, sides and a back ramp. It will be easier to chop down saplings and transport to the north pasture burn pile. Few trips and longer than my tow wagon. I intend to get my new one once this older one is gone and tarp it outside for the winter.

Got outside with "Peanut" (my walker) this morning to take care of above, and to water. I checked on the peppers. ALL of them wilt in the heat, then look great in the early morning and late evening, many have small fruit.
I watered the Rubbermaid "pot" with tomatoes and peppers.
What you see in back of the peppers are crab grass that managed to grow next to the cement, but, easily pulled, MUCH easier if your leg isn't healing!!!!! :rant
Still, THIS bedding area with stones would have been a weedfest.
I checked on the "EVA pot". Nothing growing. Been Waaayyyy too dry.
I reseeded forget-me-nots and added some Cherry Rose Jewel nasturtiums, Heavily watered the pot, then covered with a garbage bag. This is what I did to the zinnia pot in the front, but today I was wearing my work belt with all of the pockets, one that securely holds my phone, so I could take a picture.
I was carrying these things in the many pockets:
--cell phone
--radio (to keep in touch with DH, inside)
--package of forget-me-not seeds
--small glass container of Cherry Rose Jewel nasturtiums
Middle DD had one of these belts, and she bought me Mine for Christmas.
I will check on growth in the Eva Pot here at the end of the month, before I take the bag off.
I am SO glad that I put down tarps and old plastic tablecloths around the house.
Solarizing is such a good way to kill weeds.
I keep learning things, like my salad onions, Grande onions, leeks and shallots really don't mind being crowded or only getting a few hours of sun daily. Not ideal, but I am very pleased.
I am also surprised. I thought that the Rose of Sharon forest only dropped seeds in the Fall.
WRONG!! I pulled 3 of them from the onion planter!

Ducks 4u great job . Even with 2 knee replacement surgeries you’re doing great 👍.
Proud of your courage and following doc’s advice by doing the things you can do and not worrying about the things you can’t.‼️🤠
