I planted a lot of trees this spring, most from local stores. The one tree I mailordered, a mulberry not easy to replace is the one they ate!!!!The trees that every big box carries they left alone.

Ugh, Deer are so bad! Thankfully we don't have deer problems anymore because of are dog.

Sorry about your tree - they DO seem to somehow know the VERY thing we most want them to not eat.

The deer around my place have learned that the dogs stay in the yard (busy road too close for MY comfort) so they come and go with ease. I can go out on the porch and be
75' away from them, clap my hands and yell and they just twitch their tails and keep on grazing.
Last year a neighbor put up two tree stands - I told him that wasn't necessary, he could just walk up and smack them in the head with the but of the gun.
He got 3 in the driveway - just back the truck up and load them on.

I wish hunting was allowed where I am. Very bad gun law no hunting anywhere in county.

Put up target. Explain to DNR, officer, I was doing target practice and he ran in front of target. He must of had death wish...... I tried to save him, but it was too late.

Ugh, I just spent hours today in the heat and humidity putting up a deer barricade around my blackberries. Last year I watched them bloom and begin to ripen and did not get them protected in time... stupid deer ate *all* the unripe berries and a good portion of the new growth. This year, I will get some berries! (Unless the birds get them...) -Wendy

It is very frustrating to have deer wreck your hard work especially when that work is expensive ornamental trees and shrubs.

We live in some of the most densely populated white tail deer country in the region. The best way to keep deer at bay is a high or electrified fence. Where a fence is not feasible we have had success in protecting trees and shrubs with fear based Deer Repellent Packs. These packs are also easy to use as they only need to be installed every 90 days.

Deer Repellent Packs better in our area work than any spray-on repellent we have tried to use.

Gee Nyboy, where are you? Says the Texan where gun ownership and hunting is right next to God, family and country. While I don't hunt now, I have and I can take a deer or hog from the field to the plate. Have you considered a harpoon? It's quiet. MUHAHAHA!!!

Oh, I remember you mentioning your mulberry. Sorry to hear they came after it! They've finally found me here too, after leaving my stuff alone for 5 years. I'm going to have to put up electric fencing this year. They have the movable kind, made of electrified netting. Might be good for seasonal use.
