another very easy flower to crow that is an annual is cosmos. the bees love 'em and the seeds are plentiful along with such a unique form (they are very spiky and will stick in your clothes and through gloves). the other reason i like them is that they flower from mid-summer right up until frosts take them out so it is good bee and butterfly food for later on in the year.

the yellow/orange/reddish mix is very bright and fun to play with (selecting for different flower color and types).

i used to grow them every year, but haven't the past few, but i am going to put a row in this year because i miss having them around.
