Has anyone had any luck with growing mints from seeds?

So far I haven't tried. I've gotten cuttings or purchased plants.

Lordy! It spreads so fast from a single plant I don't know what I'd do if I started a flat! What kind were you planning on starting Mary C.?

I started spearmint from seed, had a nice patch, but moved so hastily that I didn't get cuttings.

I have some lemon balm started that I planted from seed.

Catnip, lemon mint, peppermint and spearmint. I'm a huge fan of mint
Where could I buy the plant? I started to grow catnip, lemon mint, peppermint and spearmint. But now I'm not sure if they are growing or if it's just weeds I'm very much of a newbie can you upload pictures from an ipad?

Mint has little roundish wrinkled leaves, growing out in sort of a rosette, pretty flat to the ground at first. If the little plants you have are in the mint family, pinching a leaf will tell you for sure.

All the nurseries around here carry mint. I just bought some orange mint which is my favorite. It has such a rich spicy aroma, and these particular plants were different from the orange mint I planted last year. They have large rounded leaves, about quarter size, without the heavy venation of a lot of mints, and the color is green with a purple cast. Very pretty.

Thank you everyone! Oh and I just read something on how Epsom salt helps your garden. Thoughts?

There was a thread not to long ago on Epsom salt in the garden. I like to add to my bath after long day working in garden.

I had a thought on Epsom salts about a year ago .

Epsom salts has a lot of the Mg you see there in the formula for chlorophyll.
