Smart Red - DH is ALREADY talking about building our 'second' house! I told him that's fine, but he's going to be living there by himself! As far as I'm concerned, they're going to take me out of this house in a pine box!
My DH had plans to build the first house before we met and started dating. He wanted to build it as a speculation house with the intent to sell it. By the time the house was (almost) finished we had decided to marry so lived there for a couple of years. We never got around to listing the house when a realtor called one evening and said he had it sold, what did we want for it?

It took us three years of living in town before wet found this land and got started on our present house. About 25 years ago I found a perfect spot for a third house. 100 acres, water, woods to the north and a high spot facing due south for passive solar. Never got DH all that excited about building a third house. Now we have both agreed that at 75 he is out of new houses. I am good with that. I love this spot and know it is more than enough for us to handle -- although the 100 acres is still not sold and I pass it almost daily. Sigh!

How exciting!! This can be your new house journal. You can also come here to shake off the crazies that building a house does to you. Never had a basement.........

Plus another couple of inches of rain! :( Although as you can probably see, our foundation guy isn't letting the rain stop him. He's been able to work around it. I am extremely glad we got the septic in last fall, tho. It's going to be ages before the ground dries out.

We also went to close on our construction loan, which about gave me a heart attack to see the numbers for what we were borrowing! But all in the name of progress, I guess. :/
