The cold temperatures play havoc with the camera batteries. The camera takes 8 AA batteries, which are supposed to last about a year, but due to the cold they last less than a week. It is amazing to see how many deer are roaming around at night. Last night the camera caught deer passing through at three different times. Also, the driveway has muddy deer tracks all over it, so I can not imagine how many there actually are.

I gave dh a trail cam for Christmas but we haven't set it up yet.
The neighbors saw mountain lion tracks behind their shop about a month ago.
A mountain lion got it's picture taken in the same neighbors driveway during the summer, just laying down in plain view in the daytime.
It will be interesting to see what roams around in the dark.

My pet, Mortimer, didn't have bad breath. Of course, he didn't live to a ripe old age, so perhaps he never developed the terminal oppossum's bad breath.

My Maine coon kitten's father is 23lbs and the mother is 15lbs. I've seen many 20+lbs Maine coons and they are not fat just big.

Looking at the last pictures you posted of the opossum compared to the rock then looking at the original pictures in question makes me think house cat.
