The Any Wonderful Food You Made From Your Garden Today Thread!

For 4th of July we had a BIG green salad with the last of the lettuce, some Cherokee Purple tomatoes from a local greenhouse, and ranch dressing made with our own fresh herbs; venison burgers on the grill with onions I had overwintered from last year, homemade honey mustard, on homemade rolls; berry cobbler from our own early Northland blueberries, the last of the strawberries (including some Alpine strawberries), mulberries and early red and black raspberries.

Today I need to pick some more mulberries and make frozen & jam, pick some more snow peas and sugarsnaps and freeze them.
 
I made my greens and eggs bake using lambs quarters that was coming up in the millet. Also cooked up some of our first baby zucchini with onions. Had a nice green salad with a few cherry tomatoes.
I also put a big batch of wild plums in the dehydrator.
 
I made a pasta salad with our own fresh broccoli and red onions chopped in it, added some summer sausage(cubed) and cheddar cheese.. topped with dressing and yummm. so full!!
 
I have a mess of Itallian lettuces that have been making their way into my neighbor's kitchen.

I made a wonderful, simple salad with sugar snap peas, ripe tomatoes and carrots.

But what I am most excited about is my gooseberries and black currents are ripe and ready for harvest. Now what? I have been eating them raw and they are delicious!
 
I LOVE black currants and gooseberries. I'll be right over to help you eat them. Yum!!
My grandmother used to can gooseberries. I haven't had black currants since I was a young child.
 
Right on right?! I have been munching on them since my last post. I dont think I will have any left for canning or making into jam. :(
 
I just put some tiny russet potatoes in the oven with some butter... I just pulled them out of the ground around 2pm today! :cool:

Can't wait to munch these suckers down topped with cheese and sour cream!!!!!! Mmmmmmmmmmmm :drool
 
My grandmother would send us out to "steal" some potatoes from the potato patch. She would boil them whole (unpeeled) and put them on the table with salt, pepper and vinegar as a snack. Can we say yummy?!
 
Mmmm.... I should have probably have done a slice in the food processer and 'crisped' them up in the over with some olive oil and then dipped them in red wine vinegar.... ARGH! You are making me rethink dinner.... yet those were the BEST tiniest potatoes I have ever eaten.

I through in some baby carrots at the last minute... and my 2 year old ate EVERYTHING on her plate. So it was awesome!!!!
 
My favorite potato recipe is to simply bake them and slice them into circles. Pace the circles onto a well greased cookie sheet. Mash the circles to flatten them a bit, with the bottom of a glass. Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil, salt and pepper them and rebake them until they get crispy.

This also works great for those leftover baked potatoes.

Kids love them!
