Been so busy canning I haven't had a chance at an update, been up to my ears in tomatoes.
Dad and I harvested what was left of the garden about 3 weeks ago, I only had 3 days to work with, so it was pretty much all out the entire time. At the time, we only got out about 2/3 of the tomatoes, so a neighbour got to pick all she could use, and then my Dad picked the last a week or so ago and got a little over 3 bushels. Must have had close to 10 bushels in the first pick, it became a matter of how many I could haul home in my little golf.

What I got into my car:

The black garbage bag weighed about 130 lbs, I could hardly lift it up into the car.

Carrots, about 3 rows, we got about 120 lbs worth I think.

Potatoes, weighed in around 450 lbs.

The cold room:
Am realizing I'll have to build proper shelves to store everything properly, I don't trust that these plastic units will handle the weight very well.
Will update when I can get my hands on some wood. The cold room is a fairly recent development, I enclosed the end of our cold storage, as it had a vent to the outside, and did stay above the freezing mark all last winter once I learned to block off a good portion of the vent.

Mostly peaches and plums with a bit of the salsa lower right.

Applesauce, jams and salsa mostly on the left, but this unit is a lightweight, so don't want to overload it.

Busy Jam day:
Plum, Sour cherry/plum mix(This turned out really well) and Blueberry.

I canned green beans & lima beans yesterday. Sadly, I lost about 2 gallons of green beans while helping Mom move.

@Crazy Gardner - I picked up some metal shelves at Lowes & Walmart to put my canned goods on. They hold 350 lbs per shelf. Nice garden haul!

I already canned and made a lot. Currently working on canning/making more apple cider as the apples have frozen on the trees so I am getting what i can out of them. I may make another batch or two of applesauce and apple butter depending on the state of the apples when i get to that point. We didnt actually put in a garden this year so produce is limited and canning is limited.

1 quart and 2 pints more of the inside tomatoes canned today. I smell/taste tested EVERY ONE of them. Some were not quite ripe, a little bit tart, but tasted good, so they made it to the jars.

Mom laughs at me but i do the same thing when doing prep on tomatoes. when we pick some may be partially spoiled so i cut away until they smell ok.

in all the years of doing tomatoes we have had one quart go bad on us. out of thousands.
