What are You Eating from the Garden?

Sugar snap peas! Lots and Lots and LOTS of sugar snap peas!
Love them too! But can't seem to grow them here. Part of the problem is lack of space. The trellis where I plant them in the fall has to be used for the tomatos end of March. Peas are not ready yet to be pulled out.

i wish you had more space because i think peas would do well in that climate and pods and fresh peas are really good eats. :)

The farm where I got my chickens for 18 months ago has a regular email for customers. They are selling rhubarb stalks, 50 cents each. Think I should harvest and use their recipe:
Farmer Penny's Favorite Rhubarb Crisp Recipe

4 C cut-up Fresh Rhubarb
1/2 tsp Salt
2 C Sugar
3/4 Flour
1 tsp Cinnamon
1/3 C Butter

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
Place rhubarb in ungreased baking dish. Sprinkle with salt. Measure sugar, flour and salt into bowl. Add butter. Mix thoroughly until mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle evenly over rhubarb. Bake 40-50 minutes (until topping is golden brown). Serve warm with cream.Yum!

If you can get some berries that are actually decent I'd substitute two cups of strawberries or raspberries for two cups of rhubarb. It's probably a bit early for strawberries where you are but maybe not that much.

$.50 per stalk? I gave away about $70 worth. Wish we had those prices here-might consider growing enough to sell as well as give away.

Bok Choy and Broccoli Raab.

The first 2019 veggies from seed.

However, cheating ... since the greens are from the hoop house over 2 backyard beds. Double cheat ... I even put some heat in there on the colder mornings. Had to protect tomato starts in there!
