DH fell and hit his head, getting up in the middle of the night, sans any light on. Went to PT and therapist told him anybody on blood thinners is highly susceptible to a brain bleed, so get a CT Scan. He did that, then they saw something and wanted an MRI, which didn't happen until 3PM ToDAY, so another overnight stay so that they can read it.
ANYWAY, I burned yesterday morning, was sure that the small pile was out BUT winds picked up. I didn't make it home until 10PM last night. I was SURE that I burned my place down.
Nope.
God intervened and kept it all safe. :love
DH is looking better than ME, well rested and he got some HD pain meds.
I'm glad he was ok! 🙏

Cleared the peppers out of the greenhouse. I should have done that earlier but I knew that they would be a mess to handle right after they froze. Dried up now so the plants could be carried out and cut into manageable lengths to be tossed into the stealth compost bins.

First, the deck outside the greenhouse door had to be moved for access. The boards were frozen to the concrete blocks! After 2 trips around beating on it with a sledge hammer, it was movable. Not much compost in 2 of the bins under it but about the top 4" was frozen. Broke that out and tossed the plants in. Only the most recently filled 5-gallon bucket of kitchen scraps could be added. It sits in the full sun and we have certainly had a lot of that in these final days of December. A big chunk of frozen material fell out but, at least, I ended up with one empty bucket. Covered this small amount.

It's remarkable that I could do any of this but, shoot, it counts as garden work and a little better than 30 minutes walking which would have amounted to my daily exercise otherwise :).
