What did YOU do in your garden today :P

The only way Imma gonna want to see that is . .

. standing on my head, Robin!!

I hope you don't have to look at it for long but remember that pose if you want to gain some piece of mind about winter in spring!

Steve
where it hailed and snowed today but most of the white stuff, stayed overhead . . . & blew into Montana! Oh, and i had a cup of tea with honey, does that count as garden work?

I started hardening off my cabbage, broccoli, romaine, parsley, spinach and basil by setting it all outside for about an hour and a half.
Turned over a row in the garden to prepare it for the cabbage.
Marshall, congratulations on your 2-year anniversary. You have added a lot to our forum, and we're glad you are here.

Buckabucka, you are sure getting it this year. Spring must be on your mind all the time :hit. I sure understand, in 2008 we got record snowfall here in Eastern Washington, but NOTHING like what you're going through. Good luck with your hot pepper seeds.

The only thing I did for the garden today was lurk on teg. It was a beautiful day, but I was exhausted from a brutal shift at work, so I napped and that is about it, oh and played w/ my chickies.

Tramped around in the gradually receding snow to have fun guessing which perennial veggies will come out of dormancy first. :D

In the basement starter corner, thinned the tomatoes and nudged the pepper seeds to a warmer spot.

Spring is definitely in the air for us. I mixed up some starter soil yesterday and today will start cantaloupe, acorn squash and dahlia seeds. It's nice to be outside without a muffler, hat, coat, etc. (I am not hardy in cold weather :\ ) Hope you are all getting some sunshine.

I started my hot peppers and eggplant today. For eggplant: rosita, rosa Bianca, swallow, and pingtung. Peppers: hot wax, Anaheim, tiburon ancho/poblano, krimzon lee, and jaluv an attitude.
I'm pretending not to notice that it is currently snowing.

I scooped a wagon load of chicken poop and worked it into 2 beds. I transplanted Cherokee Purple tomatoes (3), Yellow Pear tomatoes (4) Jimmy Nardello peppers(14) Ping Tung eggplant (6) Marconi peppers (6) and several marigolds. I put up some 2' chicken wire next to the chicken run and planted Black Oil Sunflower Seeds.

Still unable to get into garden. The top is muddy, down a little way it is still frozen. So we spent time removing winter accumulation of leaves, etc. from the koi pond and I raked and shoveled a 5 gallon bucket of dog droppings out of the back yard. (And it is not MY dog, it is his!) Yucky job that had to be done.
