I bet there aren't many of the drive ins left, especially using the mugs; too much temptation to drive away with that frosty mug. I think I remember before the one in our town closed, it was serving root beer in a plastic glass.

The (more or less) local A&W restaurant still uses the frosted mugs. Of course, at my age those huge glass mugs are almost too heavy to hold. For me -- their water is served frosted as well.

oh we had one in Menominee Wis.. then in Renton after we moved to Washington
I remember the glass mugs real well
