Good Morning!

I want to post this site on this thread as it shows US food gardeners getting together to provide more food for local consumption by gaining help & support from members country-wide:

I would also like to remind you of Ladyhawke1's thread on this forum, entitled " Locavore the resources available in your area":

:frow Hattie,

I checked the "Customer Reviews" on Amazon on this book. Looks like it would be a good "read".

Happy Easter..!!

It is still very cold & windy here in Oxfordshire!! :barnie

Spring is barely here & it is certainly far too cold at night to put anything tender-ish out or even sow many seeds ( they will only get eaten by the mice). I am staying off the muddy, slippery soil for now & getting on with my Spring cleaning indoors........

So I thought you might be interested in a few videos of British Allotments.....Well I know boggy b. will..............!

I hope your weather is better but I know a lot of people in the eastern states are flooded badly; lots of film has been shown of the disasters on the news programs over here. My heart goes out to them. :hugs

:frow Hattie,

I had read, yesterday, on Soilman's April 2nd blog entry, that winter had returned to the UK. Was hoping that, maybe, you were in a different locale and had missed the winter "stuff". Been a crazy weather year, huh. Well. I've said it before and (being an optimist) I'll say it again.....every passing day is one day closer to diggin in the dirt time.:coolsun
........now on to the video.
Hope you have a great day...inspite of the weather.

:frow Hattie,

Great video. Got a spot in my garden that I have been toying with the idea of putting in a small "pond" like the one in this vid. Here's another youtube vid that came up after this one...it's really good, too.

It's titled.."An Allotment Journey 2005-2008"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQAR8YZBly8

Oh yea.....Happy Easter, to you, too.

Hi boggy b,

The pond sound like a great idea & great for the wild birds, but make sure one side has a sloping beach so wild life can climb out. I get a lot of hedgehogs that always seem to topple into mine, while trying to get a drink....!! :hu
