Your Weather, 2021

Our forecast is showing we will be hot. I think unusual for us to ever have 70's for low. Even 60s at night for long periods of time is rare.

our low forecast tonight is 41F... brr!

today was a wonderful day outside, breezy and cool enough to get some gardens weeded. about 1/4 of the gardens inside the fence done, but mainly the worst one was first on my list before the weeds got too big and also had chances to drop seeds. i will have to do some close up work in there the next few weeks but the weeds are very tiny at the moment so i have a chance of getting them all done before anything gets big enough to set or drop seeds.

normally when i weed this time of the year it will be dry enough out that i will leave weeds on the surface to dry in the sun and breezes so that they can become worm food. not today. all of the bigger weeds went into the bucket to get dumped on the weed pile because there are some chances of rain, plus it is going to be cool enough to keep things from drying out quickly, plus chances of rain. sorry wormy friends... i did leave some weeds here or there, but not as many as i'd've liked... :/

with the winds and soil being damp enough to have some give to it i noticed today that many of the bean plants have space in the soil around the stems because they've been wiggling in the dirt. i hope they'll get stronger roots to hold them up instead of falling over. i guess we'll see what happens. :)

i think i can have the rest of the gardens done inside the fence in a day or two and the gardens outside the fence have already been gone through recently since they were just planted so that means i'm actually pretty well caught up. which is the theme for this past year if i ignore some of the projects i should get done... :) :/ ...

The invisible wall around my location that keeps the storms out, seems finally to have broken down. It rained much of the day yesterday; but the ground was so dry, that I could already walk in the garden today. If anything, the softer ground now will make it easier to get the last of the weeding done.

The forecast is cooler & dry until Thursday, time to drive in the remaining trellis poles.
 
raining pretty good out there now.

went out and finished weeding all the gardens inside the fence and then since i had some oomph still left in me went out front with my pillow and weed bucket and sat there on the grass in the nice cool breeze and got after the Creeping Charlie again. after a while it was getting a bit darker and then the raindrops started falling. i stayed out hoping it was just teasing me but it kept on dripping so i got my piller and bucket and came in. closed up the garage and a few moments later the downpour started.

sun came out, raining, no rainbow (too close to the middle of the day).

feels good to have the gardens taken care of and the rest of the day to take a break. :)

i have to give credit to Mom too since she came out and helped scrape two of the gardens. it would have gotten done tomorrow instead of today, but hey, it's nice to have a helper. :)
 
Trying to prepare for this heat. Got 2 rabbits to worry about. They have had 100 degree days before. Watering the raspberries going to soak them good. They really do not look that good. Kind of surprised with all the rain we have had, but I think judging wrong. I think still 2 or 3 weeks before they should ripen?? If early then they look great. lol. I have the weeds under control and I am going to plant my flower seedlings in a new place. The place I want them, just too much work and I need to do that late this fall. I still have lost garden space from weeds and I am going to cover those areas in cardboard and cover with the manure. I picked first cherry tomato. I thought this was a Sungold, but apparently Sweet 100. It was good. Maybe I should not have enlarged the picture. lol It actually was very tiny.

i have to admit that this forecast for today made me giggie a bit:

It sure looks like it from the forecast. The heat is moving north. It's 71°f here at home and a little warmer than that in the early morning darkness. How am I gonna cool the house with outside air when it's room temperature at sunrise?

On my way to do some weeding and then it's back to AC for 12 hours? Well, I guess I'm just gonna have to be happy with that ...
