A new cookie recipe I tried this year, Oatmeal Lace cookies...
...
These things are addictive! Mostly just caramelized sugar with a little oatmeal for chewiness.
...
I baked mine on Parchment paper instead of foil.

may be able to roll them up when still warm? or too delicate?

these cry out for ice-cream... i'm trying to keep off the winter weight. i hate you. j/k... before i can make any new cookies i have to make a few batches of black walnut cookies and i told someone i'd make macaroons again before it got too warm to ship them to her. so maybe by summer i'll be able to try.

I tried something a little different the other night with a batch of brownies. I had a few cups of fresh cranberries left and decided to see how they tasted baked in brownie batter.
I also threw in extra chocolate chips and walnuts as usual. They came out really tasty! The cranberries added just the right amount of zing.

Maybe you could roll them. They don't get brittle until they cool.

i finally have some room in the freezer and Mom is off playing cards with her friends for the afternoon so i made 48 beautiful black walnut cookies. my all time favorite when iced with almond extract flavored frosting... they're cooling off now before i can get the frosting on them. it's going to be hard not to eat a lot of these.

the last time i made them i used vegetable oil like the recipe calls for, but it seemed a bit of an off flavor to me and so this time i decided to try butter. the few crumbs i had tasted yum... so i don't think the butter ruined them (like it could ?!?!) :)

if it isn't chocolate Mom will not usually bother eating it as a snack, but she said these turned out well. i agree.

i ran out of frosting with eight cookies to go. hard to make a small amount of frosting... extra chocolate frosting is good for adding to hot chocolate. extra almond extract flavored frosting... hmm... :)
