I have my neighbor friend coming tomorrow to install back splash. I do not have the tools to do it right and he does. I still need to get the gas line inspected before we can install the new range. Also have to run the 1/4" water line for the ice maker and install new breaker and wire for dedicated refrigerator outlet. Plus trim job ongoing, all that and the lighting and this job will be done.

Is the waterline to icemaker on an outside wall? We have a problem with ours freezing every time the temps drop to freezing. So be sure it is well insulated. Can't wait to see the choice for backsplash! We used the same tile as the flooring only 4X4 instead of the 12X12 floor tiles. Looking Good.

Yes, had to pull a permit for the gas line. I'm sort of dragging my feet a little on it so I can get more of the other odds and ends done before that. The new stove will be the last item on the list. Also have not picked up the gauge yet for pressure test.

That's what we have as a backsplash, tumbled travertine in a 4x4. My husband ran it behind the stove also and up to the exhaust hood.
I really like it.

Make sure you put a good sealer on it. I was worried about the bit behind the cooktop, thinking it would start looking dingy from the cooking, but it's been in a couple of years now and still looks fresh.

Oh yeah, he also ran it up and over the windowsill behind the sink, it has a lip so the windowsill is nice and wide. That's my favorite part. It had been wood that matches the cabinets, but I must be kind of a wild dishwasher because the wood was looking real crummy from water damage and the sun beating on it in the summer. So much nicer now.

Love, love, love all that staining and what it did to the wood and I also love the choice of your tile. Found some lighting in Lowe's yesterday and was thinking it would look so lovely in your kitchen!

It had wood trim exactly the type of your cabinets and they also had the same option in that aged copper metal of your drawer pulls. The best part? It had seeded glass on the bulb covers and those old fashioned looking bulbs...loved everything but the big ticket price!!

Oh we were wondering how it would hold up glad to here it tuff stuff. I am curious how the grout is going to clean off after rubbing all over that porous and pitted tile. We will be running it all the way up to the bottom of cabinets and up under the microwave also. Never thought of putting on the window sill. Great idea but a little late now for me to change directions lol. Not even going to mention it to the wife

The kitchen is a disaster area right now while Angie is moving back in, she washed everything when she packed it away and washing again while unpacking, extra clean I guess lol.

That is just something we do....my husband didn't understand why I washed everything before putting it in the cabinets either.
