UPDATE: DD bought the restorer--only about $8 and this was the result:
Tori's free cabinet, 2018.jpg

Tori's free cabinet#2, 2018.jpg

She also used a beeswax to buff it, and it only took about an hour. She told me that there was no need to glue this. All of the pieces were cut and designed to fit together. Both DD's have put in "bragger's books", the ones that they have read and want to brag about it. It looks like it has always been there.

Unbelievably warm!

Over 50°f here and the warmest day since November ... and, here comes the rain!

I was out in the few beds here at home and only the top inch of soil wasn't frozen. I don't know how far down the frost goes but this hasn't been a very cold winter.

we've returned back to colder again, and a little snow, i wanted to get out and pull some old bean vines off the fence one warm day last week but it was too windy. yes, way too warm for winter, i'm glad to see snow again. if it stays too warm there is a risk that the fruit trees will bud out too early. that happened several years ago and almost everyone in the state lost their tree fruit crops from a later frost. i don't have any fruit trees, but the strawberries bloomed that year on Mar 11th, normal is late May or early June.

No frost damage there, @w_r_ranch . Nice!

Not frozen in zone 5

Two high temperature records were tied, yesterday. One was in Idaho, the other, Washington State - over 50°f.

There have been a few other records this winter, mostly to the west and nearer the Cascades. Those have had to do with rainfall at the lower elevations. In those mountains, there are avalanche alerts, right now. When this warmth moved in, one ski resort had 110mph winds at the summit ..!

More towards normal temperatures are supposed to be back by tomorrow but it may not be cold enuf to snow. Another drop or two of rain and all the snow will be gone outta my yard!
