I'm sitting on pins and needles, it's a good job I'm not a finger nail biter, not only would I have any finger nails left, the fingers might be half gone too. Buying something sight unseen is always a gamble, but like you Alex, if I want something bad enough I take the chance.

Annette I have wanted them so long even if not show quality I will love them
"Show quality" means that you have had breeders inbreed somewhere along the line. I bought six 1yo layers from a local farm to help my older flock (6 hens) stay warm this winter. They have been laying pretty reliably all winter, even though I didn't put in the 75 watt light on a timer to give them the 13 hr day most hens prefer.
They are mostly EE x's, which means true mutts.
ALL happy, healthy birds that survived the deep freeze of the 2017-2018 winter, no frostbite or any other ills.
