I'm not talking about Facebook or social media. I'm talking about moving them from the phone to storage on the computer. Nothing more than that.

when i plug the camera in (via USB cable) there is a selection i have to make on the camera that comes up, and i just select PC.

after that the icon for the file system on the camera pops up on the computer screen, but i rarely do anything with that icon directly because i use the terminal and type to move the files around.

if you have the right file system drivers for the file system being used by the camera it should not be a major issue.

which step of the above is causing you issues?

(if you want to move this to a separate thread or PM me that's ok with me :) )...

Do you have a smart phone?

If YES, download on your laptop, a free program called drop box. Also download onto smart phone. Now you can transfer files between the two. If drop box gets filled, delete after transferring files to a file on lap top.

@Trish Stretton , I have had blueberries in the ground here, and even though I amended the soil and did everything "right" they didn't thrive. They produced and grew, but were just not what they should be.
Once I transplanted them into half barrels they took off and became much healthier. I guess because being in a container it's easier to control pH and also they are closer to the house, right off the patio so I see them all the time and can stay on top of watering better.

Yeah, a G8 with AT&T. And a desktop, not laptop. I haven't tried your specific method but I've tried downloads that are supposed to work. My typical problems when I try are that after I print off the instructions of how to download, the screens that are supposed to show up don't show up and I can't find them. Or something is not available at this time. It's always something.

I don't enjoy this type of stuff, I just get frustrated. I'll wait until my son shows up and let him solve it for me. He seems to enjoy it.

Trish, sorry for the hijack, I was just trying to offer sympathy. But you'll find we often go off on tangents. You can never tell what will how up on any thread.

Our next door neighbors are newish beeks and lost their hives last year to wasps. They did harvest a small amount and left most of the rest for the bees to winter on, and they gave us a jar. I felt so proud of that honey, knowing that the bees I saw collecting on my plants were probably our neighbors.
Last summer was extremely smoky and an epic wasp year.
I'm sure it was a combination of things.
I'm so happy for you getting to retire Carol Dee!
Thanks Thistle

the guy who sets hives along the edge of our property says he loses around half of his hives each winter, i don't have the number from this past winter but i would not be surprised to hear he lost between 1,000 - 2,000 hives. :(

i hope things get better for your efforts there!

i'm sure you'll find retirement enjoyable, but it can be a tough transition for some.
That is a LOT of hives. We want to do more, but not that much. Then it becomes a FULL TIME job. Like I said a lot of trail and error and a Big learning curve! Seems like what works one year does not the next!

Drop Box is very easy. Whatever you transfer in there, will be on both devices. I have it on 3-iPhone, iPad and laptop. Desk model would work as well.

I spent an enjoyable morning reading your blog earlier today, amongst others.
Your cherry sized plums might be what I call Christmas plums which usually ripen mid summer here. Would that tie in with yours?

The plums we pick are wild plums, they are called Chickasaw plums. We have some started in coffee cans, they are ready to set out now.
