:gig You crack me up!
I planted a whole slew of borage in and around damned near everything. I can't imagine putting little shirts around each of them....
guess I'll just wait till they grow a bit?:hu
One of my saved rose bushes is starting to bloom...what do I do with it? Do I clip the roses right after they bloom, or wait till they wither and then clip them?
I've heard that one too. My SIL told me "That's why my tomatoes didn't grow last year, because the smoke from the back patio killed them."
(That , plus the fact that she watered them 3 times the entire summer!!)
I have planted some companions seeds around the seedlings I started back in January (and have moved into their outside beds). The problem, the companions are just little bitty things, and though I would like to mulch, I'm afraid they will get buried/get too much H20.
I guess I will just have to...
I've never had much luck with the cages, but am using them again this year for no apparant reason. I have the determinates in the cages, and am staking the indeterminates. We'll see how it goes...:)
I've done the search, but I want to make sure I understand...
If I just wrap cardboard-ish material arounf the stems of my seedlings and make sure this tube extends down into the soil a few inches, I will have made a paper collar?:/
I appreciate the help. I've been lucky with the squash bugs so far,but my know it all SIL came up with this strategy and I just wanted some opinions.
I don't think I will tell her it won't work, I'll let her plant late and she won't get any squash.
Then I'll sell her some of mine in a few...
I was just thinking that! I thought it was to hot/dry here, but we are pretty similar to you guys here in Albquerque. I'm going to research now! Thanks!!!
My SIL said that if you wait to plant squash until later in the season you won't get squash bugs (as they will have already set up shop in someone else's garden). I'm not convinced.
Any thoughts??
Thanks! I planted both so I could not only can some salsa and tomato sauce, but have muchers all summer (hopefully!):fl
This is very helpful- I am going to print it up and put it in my garden diary, as I'm sure I'll need to refer to it in a day or two...of all the things I've lost, I miss my...
I've looked through the posts (using the search), but can't seem to find the answer...
I think I read somewhere that you only pinch off the suckers on indeterminate varieties...right? Or do I have it backwards? Having planted both, I would like to train them properly from the very start.:/
