Nice!
My son has very sensitive skin (it gets really bad in the winter) so we are thinking about trying goats milk soap to see if that helps. When you are up and selling, let me know I would like to try some out on him.
So after losing my tomatoes to what seems to be terrible soil conditions I decided to do a mid season (July) replant when I found plants for a quarter each. My goodness they are looking good, hopefully we get some 'maters before the frost gets them.
When the kids inhaled about half of the...
Holy moly, that's a load of carrots.
We've tried carrots in the past, but weren't so successful so we gave them up. Seeing your pile makes me want to try again.
Well this week stopped by the fully loaded pear tree and some of them turned loose so we went back with our buckets and filled 'em up. I canned 8 pints as a test run. Made them with a medium syrup. The verdict, hubby said too sweet and a bit too firm. So I'm currently running some thru the...
After a July restart with some clearanced plants, they are looking great. The plants look healthy and have many flowers. Hopefully they will have time to get the fruit ripe.
Hummmm, I wonder if I missed it when I was looking over the packets. When we were in the store yesterday the seeds were gone. :hit When I talked to my mom she said she has a few cuke seeds left over and she would send them to me.
That listing is wonderful. I was trying to google cucumber...
I'm lucky I don't have one of those pesky day jobs that really gets in the way of my gardening, so to speak. I am a substitute for our school district, so I'm free all summer I just have to work during planting and some of the harvesting season.
We've been slowly getting all my gardens into my...
I was planning another round of cucumbers this year. Only I hit 1 problem, I can't find my seeds. While at the store they still have several different types of cucumber seeds, but I can't tell if they are picklers or regular. Is there a way I can tell, they all say preserve by pickling. I...
I love mulch between mine. Of course I got really really lucky this year and the electric company was "cleaning" along the power lines and I managed to get them to leave me 8 loads of the ground up trees. I figured not good for using directly around the plants, but everywhere else has made...
Indoor pests doesn't even begin to describe it. LOL!
Mine have slowed down, I guess with this awful heat. We've received over 4" of rain this week so watering isn't an issue right now. Thinking about planting some more in a raised bed in the new gardening area. This canning thing is so...
Sadly I'm jealous. LOL! Seriously, I would love to have toms that are half that size and half that healthy. Whatever you're doing, you're doing great. Congrats.!
They must be good. So far I have made 16 pints and this week my kids have eatten 8 of them. Hopefully I continue to get enough cukes to do another round or two.
When we started our small orchard a few years ago we had the black for the cross. But something (most likely deer) liked it also so it died.
We replaced the black this year. Maybe next year, even though the trees are quite small. I would love to see at least one cherry. :D
My hubby is a...
Beautiful, I can see why you would love to spend your mornings out there. I love how you made your raised beds and I'm interested in knowing about the garlic too.
I actually haven't totally given up on the original 60. I have about 10 or so romas that aren't really doing too bad. If I'm lucky enough to catch the fruit. Whatever affected the plants is also giving me trouble with most of the fruit. I also seem to have a coon hanging out down there. It...
I gave up on the almost 60 tomato plants that we planted at the beginning of the growing season. Seems nothing I do is helping the bulk of them. So this weekend my lovely hubby built me 2 new raised beds where I'm planning to do all my gardening next year and I planted 9 tomato plants in 1 of...
My BIL has one on the common ground behind his house. It's a good size. I got some seeds from it a few years ago and started some for my dad to plant on his hunting property for the deer to eat the fruit of. I don't know if they took or if the deer ate the poor little things.
I'm pretty...
