Love Lowes garden dept! they have such a variety and take good care of the plants too. Im thinking of getting some bareroot lilacs at TSC, they are small, but you get two for 4.99, I have no experience w/ these, do they grow fast?
Today I planted 5 Thompson Seedless grapevines. Tomorrow hopefully I will have my raised beds realigned, and can start getting the soil ready, before this next rainstorm. Chickens helped out a lot by eating hundreds of grubs and other bugs :)
I have a favorite, its called Mary Rose, (my avatar) also have many of the ones you have, some just planted but not enjoyed last year because the deer discovered them!!!! :( I used to have iris all up our front drive as a child, and loved iris time, they were ice blue with dark purple...
I have a Cecil Brunner growing on a trellis on the front of my house, I love it! Huge rain and wind storms here too,,,,Im glad the cherry trees arent blooming, my neighbor has hundreds and last year the crop was ruined. I want more fruit trees!!!
Raining here too, so much for planting my grapes and plum tree, still a few left bareroot at Lowes! I dont think youre any crazier than someone who still hasnt painted their coop that was built last May...
thank you, that is just gorgeous, you did an amazing job in the desert! i wish we had that blue sky here...cold fog is just not very motivating, its supposed to end today though! then I can get to the garden bed renovating :D
I have a Cecil Brunner, its really worry free and pretty flowers. I would love to see a pic of those Iris if you have one...;) Tomorrow Im planting more lettuce.
I would like a bigger garden this year, want to extend out into the pasture where the grass doesnt get watered anyway. Also...
I think theyre happiest outdoors in the ground, I couldnt make mine do anything inside, maybe not enough direct light...anyway they went berserk once I put them in the ground in full sun, or at least morning sun.
today I planted lettuce and multi colored mini bell pepper seeds in trays. I apparently have too much nitrogen in my old garden bed so will need to plant peas or something there this year.
I planted myself into my truck and drove half an hour up the hill to get out of this cold miserable valley fog! I got my indoor starting trays though and will start some early tomatoes, peppers, and some kind of flowers probably tomorrow! Love this thread ;)
