Paula 6/7 ... of note I think one might be an out-cross as it has a purple-ish stem while all others have green stems. This plant is also taller right now than any of the other plants. Will mark the one and keep the seeds separate. Anyone else growing out Paula might want to keep an eye out for stem color variations.

i sure hope it moderates and you'll pull through ok! we are in similar straights. hoping for a break to cooler temperatures.

we've had two gulley washers the past two days, including losing power for most of the evening. we talked a little and then slept it away until power came back on, then talked a little again and went back to bed - i guess i needed it, i slept all night without waking up once.

My greens started to bolt, so out they came and I replaced them with Sierra Madre. We started a wooden trellis for them to climb, but not finished.

Looking good, @HmooseK . Sierra Madre is the most bean-like yardlong I've grown, I hope it performs similarly in your intense heat. I had hoped to grow some this year, but with my limited gardening, the only yardlongs/cowpeas I was able to plant were 3-Feet-Plus (which failed last year) and Thai Soldier. Based upon seed appearance, Thai Soldier may fit in with my collection, since I seek calico varieties (such as Sierra Madre). I hope it proves adaptable to my climate.

Saw your forecast, wow!!! I can't imagine how you grow beans in those temps. We just had 3 days of record-breaking heat here, but a "hot" day here is just in the 90's.

I try, but I'm not successful much of the time. I'm thinking of doing most of my growouts in the fall. The first freeze usually happens around Turkey Day, but sometimes we can get into December
