Today I planted 5 more short rows of Anasazi sweet corn and 4 double rows of pinkeye purple Hull peas. Thanks for the pea seed, VA-longbean! The garden is full now.

I spent the rest of the day on my Kubota. DH dug me a 20' trench last weekend and rolled a rotten log in it. I chained and dragged 5 logs to the trench, piling them up. Also dumped 10-12 front end buckets of small branches and sticks in the trench. Got one scoop of horse poop dumped on one end, called it a day. I'm building a hugelculture bed for the watermelon and cucumbers.

Aaaaannnd the storm just slammed us. Winds whipping the pines around like a dog shaking a sock. Pouring rain, can't see the front gate 100' away. Once again, got seed planted just ahead of the rains. God is good.

The garden is coming up, but is just sitting there. Last night it got down in the 40's, today it is 56* and cold. We get a few sunny days, then rain and cold. Weird. At least we haven't got the hail storms that are swirling around our area.

How do ya'll like my fancy gate? I took this pic 4-12-15

I LOVE the gate! If it works, why not. I also think @ccheek is right. Pallets rank right up there with duct tape and baling wire. ;)
