You've got it, @Carol Dee .

First off, this old father hates to ask directions. I don't like giving directions - for fear that the poor soul will end up more lost!

The WS says that we may have the coldest April since records began to be kept. And yet, it isn't a few hard freezes overnight. Almost no daily record lows - and none within about 90 miles. Instead, it is wind and daytime clouds. Except for today - Sunny. I've got the dahlias lined up and I'm going out after lunch and dig some holes!

which i had yesterday after tweaking lower back in the morning. :( at least i know what to do, ibuprofen for the day and night and take it easy then gradually get moving again while backing off on ibuprofen.
The main problem with that guess is that those plants around it are definitely NOT Echinacea. Not that I can remember what they ARE, though I see it in the nurseries every year (I almost want to say Arctotis fastuosa, also known as Prince of the Veldt or Zulu Daisy, but I don't think it's that either.)
