IF WE ALL WROTE A GARDEN BOOK TOGETHER, WHAT CHAPTERS WOULD YOU WRITE?

Me, I could add some things from "OLD WAYS" of gardening from things I am learning from my mother. I do pretty good in raising potatoes so could add some there. I am learning about raised bed gardening so could add a little there. BUT mostly could gain lots from reading our book!

Yes! Those old ways of gardening definitely need to be written before they are lost. Buffalo Bird Woman's Garden is one classic example of old gardening ways, and here, nearly a hundred years after all the interviews with her, that story is more important than ever.
Make sure you get as many details from your mother that you can. Even details like how she holds the seeds in her hand, what varieties she grew as a child, what varieties her mother and grandmother grew.
I still have kept in one of my seed boxes, one of my father's list of plants he grew when he was 11 years old, seeds he purchased. I put my nephew in charge of dad's small possessions to make sure he knew the history, but I kept that seed list.
A chapter about the old ways of gardening would be one of the most cherished chapters. How she decided which day to plant a particular crop, all the details, what kinds of tools, how long it took to prepare the ground...and look at how healthy your family is! :bee

I thought of another chapter today. There ought to be one on seasonal maintanence of your garden tools and equipment. And also, one I think would be a lot of fun...a chapter full of DIY projects using repurposed/recycled materials in the garden.
Now this book will need a good, catchy title...any ideas?

Howzabout we get our editor in chief, Smart Red, and maybe Digit, and some excellent type A personality to get this ball a/rolling?
Lol! Type A personalities, ya gotta love them. I'm just an expert employee kind of guy. Had a good number of bosses in my life. I find that the type A personality bosses really get things accomplished. They are handy to have around! They get so determined to get things done that they organize people and things.
Type A's! Smart Red. Noticed right away she wanted to be editor in chief. That sounds good!
Editor in chief would be organizing us. Making flow charts, setting up the things, making schedules.
Can I be one of the assistant editors?
Um, where would the actual writing take place?
How does all the writing get put together?
I kind of think Digit, or maybe Nifty who has not yet posted here,
would know how and where to set the book.
If we put each of us, our writing in our easy garden page(s),
and then have someone copy and paste them onto a master page
somewhere, maybe an easy garden website page as a link, well that'd be one idea.
Or maybe the type A boss'd say "no, we need to have it published by a major hard copy company",
and have the thing done and marketted...all those things with the big cheeses...and then we'd be seeing our
voluminous book in things like seed catalogs along with other garden books.
As an ole professional employee kind of guy, my expertise is ideas. Gathering the forces to get things done is not my forte, that's for sure. This ole neanderthal sets his face to the topic at hand and does it, then thinks of how it can be done better.
The best type A's give good validation to the ole experienced type B's, listen to the ideas, and then set the plans, the timings, sequences, and gets the teams set up and running. They figure out how to get it all done.
Now for my next cup of coffee!

I like those Journey! I think it would be fun to collaborate on those chapters. I'm no expert, but I love a good project with found materials. And I do love tools!journey11 said:
