OH, @Nyboy , thanks for the raspberry leaf tip. It took a few days to see a difference, but some of the edema is going away.

After getting him and Eva in the barn - he was born sometime Friday afternoon out in the field.

Meeting the neighbor, Chaos.

Mom was out enjoying an afternoon with the girls around the hay ring, so Carter spent a while SUnday practicing head-butting the posts, eating dirt, playing chase with Chaos and just 'being a boy'.

Good news!

Now, it's time for you to take your part in this 3-legged stool.

So, get some warm water in the bucket. Get a clean washcloth and park yourself on that 3-legged stool. Morning and night ... get another "springer heifer." Never take as break. Never go anywhere. No vacations :D

Congrats on the handsome new boy. Eva done you proud! glad that she had an uneventful birth and you got the fun of a surprise when you got home.

What are your plans for him? Will he be future steak?

Be sure to take a picture of your first glass of milk!
