So I just realized how long it's been since I've posted pics! We are in the final stretch, at least in my mind. There are piles of decisions now about stuff I really care about (flooring, paint colors, appliances, etc.), so I've been busy. They are mudding the drywall now and also putting up soffits outside.

Hope y'all are ready for the piles of questions I'm going to be asking when it comes to landscaping next year! :D

Kate, what about all those Random Rambling questions like,

"Does this color go better with this color or this other one?"

"Should the dining area have carpeting?"

"Should the bar go in this room or the other or both?"

Steve :D

DigitS is right! I knew exactly what colors I wanted. Exactly what carpeting. Exactly what flooring. . . . until I got to the shops. All of a sudden I was immersed in 20,001, colors, 2,001 carpets, 201 flooring choices! Once through the store I had no idea what I had planned to get.

With the computer, there are sites where you can compare products and how they would look in your house. That wasn't available for me, but I would give them a try. Silly me, I really thought decorating the house would be the fun, easy part. Hopefully, you have a better idea of what you want and don't fall into the same trap as I did.

As for the landscaping, I believe that one of everything is a good start.LOL

Whew! We're getting into the final stages now! Been painting all week. I've never painted new drywall before, and I have to say it is a pain in the a**! But now we're onto color, and so far I'm loving every color I've picked. DH kept insisting everything should be white, but now that he's seeing the colors on the walls, I think he's starting to come around. :)

First, here's the kitchen tile. We ended up springing for some nicer tile, and I'm SO glad we did. It's gorgeous! And the way I see it, nicer tile is worth the investment. :)

This is the bedroom, but the color is kind of hard to see in the picture. It's this beautiful yellowish-green that looks kind of grayish-green in some lights.

The blue is the bathroom, which isn't QUITE that dark inside the room. The hallway in front of it is going to be the color of the living room.

This is the kitchen. We're going to have white cabinets, which I think will look awesome next to that dark brown.

We're still hoping to get in in about a month, so :fl everything keeps moving forward!

Oh, and my first home design question for you guys! I need to decide what color to paint the front door.

I'm not sure if I should go light or dark. DH won't go for anything too bright, so I'm thinking maybe a navy or hunter green? Or maybe a paler grayish-blue??
