This night we have a Christmas frosts . It does not change. Christmas, Epiphany, flowering oak - always cold. However -29°F too steep even for us. These photos I made in the park the day before frost. Frost will not leave before Tuesday. I hope the ducks do not die.
Right before a snow the supermarkets are swarmed with people stocking up. But here every family has a 4 or all wheel drive, so everybody is out driving right after storm any way.
They are are right across the Northern Hemisphere. It looks like that they better get out of that water, tho! Let's all hope that being on the land will be safe for them.
After another round of overnights in the single digitS', we are supposed to have warming with a loss of our blue, daytime sky as snow clouds move in this afternoon ..!
A chance of rain!? This could actually be a disaster since there is already nearly a foot of snow on the ground and that ground has been frozen since November!
The weather station at my closest location is saying 33°f for an hour or two tomorrow. My guess is that if some of what falls from those clouds after 12 hours of snowflakes becomes rain, it will mostly vanish in the snow. Here's keeping my fingers crossed.
Steve who could probably benefit from a run to the store for some oolong and who is glad he really doesn't need to go anywhere for the next 3days

-14 this morning. I've put on the two pair of wool socks for the early morning chicken chores. This winter has been weird. Frigid now, but forecasting 41 for mid-week. I'll take it! (even though rain this time of year is disappointing).

anywhere that has been uncovered the radiant heat from the sun melts the snow/ice, of course once the sun goes down it freezes again.
