 I see you have jumped right in and made yourself at home. I have heard of eating quince. I didn't know (for sure) if flowering quince was edible. I have a salmon-flowering variety much like yours that gets quince as large as apples. The other flowering quince I have is more orange-ish and has cherry tomato-sized fruits.They're actually edible, but seedy, sour, and hard to peel, but an edible that can be made into jam, or added to a pie.
Free food, I can't complain too much.
