Some of what I’m growing....

The coneflowers have started to bloom in my flowerbeds and that makes me happy! This is Magnus, and this year I added a couple Sombrero salsa red, Sombrero flamenco orange and double scoop mandarin. I’m so happy with them. I planted the Magnus pinks last year so this is their first full summer - they grew in quite nicely for their first year. I look forward to seeing them grow in next year!

someone somewhere was talking about summer flowers for the goldfinches and i forgot to mention these, but they are good ones with large seeds that the goldfinches will eventually work on. :) thanks for the reminder. :)

Love cone flowers. I dug up a straggler and brought it with me when I moved. Its barely hanging on. Thistle: I didn't know that dipladenias were but found out they are mandevilla. They are annuals here, but were perennials down in San Jose.

Some of the new colors of echinacea have not come back for me. :(
I had a really pretty red one ... Tomato Soup I think? It didn't survive winter, and a Sunset something... but I'm a sucker at the nursery and get all excited with the amazing variations they have bred. Cheyenne Spirit has done well though. That's the one with different color blooms from the same plant, I like that one. I think it's called Cheyenne Spirit.

Ooooh thistle, don’t tell me these gorgeous reds won’t survive!!! :hit
I will seriously cry.
But i did have that gorgeous Cherry something or other a couple years ago — it didn’t come back.... :tongue

Oh my gosh — i didn’t realize it put out different colors on the same plant! I just thought it was a crapshoot on what color it put out. I’ll be looking for that one again now too! I saw lots earlier this year... haven’t seen it for a while now. (Note to self... steal it from TB...):D;)
