It's especially funny to me for 2 reasons 🤔 :

1. During the 1950's Dad had the opportunity to move us out of town and onto a farm. It was part of a dairy and we were only there a couple of years before buying cows and moving off to another farm. Anyway, it was just outside of town and right across the road was the municipal airport. You.would.not.believe how people dressed for air travel in the 1950's! Elegance is the best word to describe it. A decade later, I was a passenger. It was still up-scale. Now ~shakes head~

2. I really am uncomfortable on an airplane. Maybe if it was a more common experience for me ... Maybe if it was always first-class ... I don't know, doubt it.

;) Steve

That reminded me of something ;). I suppose one might call it my first job. I had worked cracking walnuts and selling them to the store in the nearby community of Rogue River. Of course, I had my chores at home but, we didn't have an allowance for those.

Mom took a part-time job when I was 13. She liked to bake and went to work for Alpha's Pie Shop. Part of the job was a morning delivery route for restaurants.

I was in the passenger seat as delivery boy. The pies were in crates that would look a lot like pet carriers these days. They were on the backseat, floorboards and in the trunk in a 1948 Chevy. And, off we would go :).
