This wet cold weather we have had in N Central FL is for the birds. In the teens in the mourning the other day. I'm already ready for Spring! I live in FL for a reason! LoL
The weather channel showed that it was warmer this week in Alberta than Florida! :th Go figure! :hu

The warm weather in the West is a mixed blessing. Most Western states depend on snow pack for Summer water and there is hardly any there this year. Look at the map of the snow pack last year this time and them hover your mouse over a state to see what it looks like this year.

While I am enjoying not driving in the snow our mountains aren't getting enough either and that is where CO front range gets its water from. Could be a expensive watering season if patterns don't change.

Well, there is snow in every forecast from today on out for the next 7 days. After today, a temperature above freezing is only suggested by the Weather Service for the 20th. It looks like January :/.

If we have been wondering where all the winter weather has been been hiding - we only have to look at Alaska. The Weather Service monthly info claimed that winter weather never really goes away, it just goes elsewhere.

Nope, I wouldn't want to live thru an Alaskan winter, typical or otherwise ! Here is one story that shows what kind of problems you can have!

Yes...i've been bracing myself for the snow we're expected to get too...i had the feeling that we were going to pay for the mild winter one way or another! Cant wait to add SNOW SHOVELING to the list of one million and one things i need to get done every day!! :hit

Well seeing as I live in MN (aka the state that can't make up it's mind when it comes to weather) i'm kind of used to odd temperatures. This year is a little more odd than normal- during the summer we had a four day streak where is was 115 degrees with 90% humidity and this time of year we usually we have AT LEAST a foot or more of snow and it's below zero almost every day. Well it was 41 degrees earlier this week and now today it was -5. We don't have any even snow coverage- just little drifts here and there (I can still see the dead grass). Most people were dissapointed because they didn't have a "white Christmas". I however was extremely happy. No snow=safer driving conditions. Not to mention my chickens love this warmer weather!:coolsun

Come to Texas. Day before yesterday, 6:00 am, 32. Yesterday, 6:00 am, 64. High today, 74, current temp, 46. Predicted low tonight, 37. Oh, and due to the lack of rain, the burn ban is back.

It is currently only 1 degree here! The wind chill is -40....It's going to take a lot for me to get out to the coop this morning. Tonight the temp is supposed to drop to -10 with a wind chill of -50 :/ Looks like all heat lamps are on deck for tonight. I am so jelous of all of you who live in the south! It's only 60 degrees in my house right now (brrr!). Just started the fireplace...my heat bill it not going to be friendly this month
