What Are You Planting Today, This Week, This Month?

We got the potatoes in after work yesterday evening! First time ever that it's been "we".
DH and I both began making furrows to drop them in, then he said he'd do the furrows while I planted. His furrows were straight and level bottomed and nice and deep, where mine were a little squiggly and slightly rolling. I commented that he seemed to be a natural ;) and he blamed it on his Irish heritage. As long as I don't insist that he crawl around and pull weeds I think we may have the beginning of a garden partnership. :)

Yay Thistle! You are way ahead of me. The most that my husband does is to move heavy plants for me. He does it with a lot of grumbling so I can't see us ever being "we" in the garden.

Planted 21 basil, 2 squash, 6 tomatoes, 10 cabbage, a Rosemary plant, curly parsley plant, oregano plant. Forgot to add, I planted Tall Telephone peas on the side of the shed.

It's baby steps, but I let him know what a huge help it was to have him help me.
And it was. Hopefully he won't think he's filled his quota for the year.

Zinnias.

If I planted my garden from A to Z ...

No, I think most everything can go in now. It can't be the basil just yet; eggplant is gonna have to wait. I did sow some beans and sweet corn :).

Too early for the tomatoes but mostly because they have not been hardened off. Oh yeah! There are some tomatoes in large pots in the backyard but I can drag them into the garage if it turns cold, maybe after the rain this weekend.

All of this is early ... so ... the plants aren't putting much pressure on me.

Oh, rain this weekend? That will be lovely. My tomatoes are tiny, but they're in and they had been well hardened off. Since I started them so late and this spring was so mild they were able to spend lots of time outdoors.
I'm having my first neighbor kid garden class Saturday morning. Anything just less than chaos will be counted a success!

Pleasant mid-May changes to our typical Junuary?

Weather Service has the current 3 months (May, June, July) as above average for temperatures in the Northwest: link

The prediction is even warmer for the 8 to 14 day: link
