Chillin' In The Garden
The last couple days all we've been picking is radishes (2nd crop doing SO much better) to thin them out. DH planted them by digging two long trenches and walking dumping the entire see pack in lol. They all took and we have a bagillion of them out there. We thought our snow peas were done but it seems they have a few peas left in them and are flowering again, soon I'm sure we'll have some more of those too. A few days ago we harvested a kolrahbi, that was delicious! Now if only a couple of my 100 tomatoes would ripen I would be set!

Finally! My first tomatoes, zucchini (one of those baseball bat-sized ones, hiding in the weeds), two small eggplants and a yellow bell pepper.

today I picked a couple of pickling cucs that are pretty big. They'll be great size for either B&B or sliced dill pickles. I also picked yet another crook-necked squash. 
To my horror I found field corn growing up in my rosebush pot, thanks to the ground squirrels. Its a case of too many gardeners in the garden around here. I doubt I'll get any pole beans either, as they keep pruning them, if you know what I mean. They've even figured out how to climb the T-post trellis, poo-pooing my idea that when the beans grow tall enough, they'd leave them alone.

Plums and peaches. I made plum jam this afternoon and got all the peaches prepped and ready for jam tomorrow.
The deer have eaten all our apples and any plums they could get and the wild turkeys have eaten all our ripe blackberries. I pulled all the peaches yesterday cuz I WANTED THEM and didn't want to share with anything. This is the first year our little peach tree has fruited. And oh my, are they good.
Since the fires here in NO CA, animals we have not seen before are roaming through our property and eating what they find. They haven't been to my garden by the house (I have dogs) but the orchard is especially at risk. So far the pears are dong well, but not quite ripe yet.
