Wow its been almost half a decade since I've logged on to this forum!
The reason I finally came on was to check on this thread specifically because I'm interested in once again starting a compost pile.

The compost is finished curing and I currently have it in a pot with the chickens. Its not feeding any plants right now but the chickens are feeding it.

There are some fragrant daylillies if you're interested in perennials. They grow wonderfully in any soil and in any if they can withstand arizona, NM will be like heaven.

That Bougainvillea will boom for you in the summer. We had one that started that size and is now a shade tree.
