The yellow squash, 2 rows, are loaded! The vines are big, healthy and blooming. A couple rows over, are yellow patty pan squash and most didn't come up, the ones that did are pitiful looking. They were planted later, but that's no excuse for lagging behind like they are doing.

Maybe these will catch up. If they don't, at least we'll have tons of yellow crookneck squash.
I planted sunflowers on the fence. On one end, closest to the gate, they are big and healthy. On the other end, they are small and sickly looking. I sure can tell where the pigs favorite pooping places were!
In this picture you can clearly see the small sunflowers. Sad, lousy soil. Needs lots of TLC! That's the hugel bed behind the fence. The chickens have attacked it and scratched dirt and mulch off of it. I planted a winter squash on top, it didn't grow, so I planted some more, several times. Now I have something growing on it, but don't know what it is.
