Finally...Some Snow! :)

I am so grateful for the snowy pictures. They are beautiful. You allow me to admire, but not have to put up with the snow.

The descriptions came up before the pictures did. COW.....naturally I thought COW in your front yard.....shoulda KNOWN it was a MOOSE!

I'm grateful that I like snow. Although I admit, I'm good for awhile now.

Dh and Kid#2 took the snow off the roof yesterday. It took them 3 hours and now we have a 4' berm of packed plunked snow around the house. My husband starts getting antsy when there's more than a foot accumulated up there and we were up to about 24".

Since they did the hard part I elected myself to dig out all the doorways and the front sidewalk. After expending all that effort on top of the roof, I knew he was not going to be much interested in more shovel work and might even be okay with scrambling over the berm to get in and out. But I have my standards to maintain...

I have a roof rake for such purposes, Thistle'. I don't do a very good job with it. I'm just getting some of the weight off.

I'm more concerned about damaging the roofing with the thing. It's probably too light either to damage or to take off much snow. I appreciate how light it is and the long handle. The extension ladder is necessary but I don't have to climb on the roof of my little house.

No 24" here! Maybe half that. (Thistle' lives in the snow belt ...) So, I should be getting antsy, eh?

Good thing there's cheese & crackers with beer to keep me happy. I'd have some pictures for Bay's but I'm apprehensive about moose taking them away from me if I get very far from my backdoor ..!

Steve a roof rake is probably a better idea to keep from walking on the roofing. Dh does it gingerly and removes the snow in orderly columns and rows, he says Kid#2 is like a snowblower on overdrive! But he was grateful for the help. I was too. It kept me from having to stand on a ladder holding a flashlight for him so he could finish.

weather forecast is frozen rain tonight, but going up to 58 tomorrow.

When I was 11 in Mich. , I fell off our roof and onto the snow berm that formed when the snow was removed from the roof. No brocken bones or any dammage at all to me.

We had snow too! Almost 2 feet. It was beautiful and grandkids and us had a great time sledding down the street. Don't worry there were no cars. In fact, snow was not cleared from the streets because the county ran out of funds fighting the fires.
