What are you eating from the garden today?

It would be interesting to learn how well it sprouts and grows from a summer sowing.

I planted some in June. It's up and growing. Slowly, like everything else in the SBG.

I picked 2 pan patty squash. First time ever eating this and it was very good. I will grow this again. DH really liked it too.

More squash for supper. I made salads for lunch. Lettuce, Swiss chard, onions, bell pepper, banana pepper, Cubanella pepper, a few cherry tomatoes. I picked a quart of beets. Picking blackberries now and still raspberries.

I put a cup and a half of purslane from the garden in their smoothie and they never knew.

Rhubarb, squash and tomato. The rhubarb was especially wonderful...love that tart, juicy saltiness!

Green beans!

My first taste of green beans each year comes with the same thought, "this really is my favorite vegetable !"

These are DW's Jade variety. I would be even more enthusiastic if they were a more flavorful one. I shouldn't take anything away from the Jade. Some of those plants powered their way through June's whiplash weather. There are more on their way, including an entire bed planted just this week .

Every photo anymore has either bunny ears or the cat-butt lips in it! If you have never seen cat-butt lips before, picture 9-year-old girl trying to mimic Kylie Jenner. My daughter doesn't know who Kylie is, but is just mimicking her friends. Apparently cat-butt face is contagious.
