What Are You Planting Today, This Week, This Month?

Swampducks, I used to live up north. Have sheet plastic cut to size ready to cover the seeds at night. Experience tells me to say that...

Adding new radish, chard, and my pole beans -- Dr. Martin, courtesy of Mr Muggins. All of the tomatoes and peppers are settling in. We are harvesting tons of lettuce, Michili chinese cabbage, radish, chard, 2 types of kale, peas. The melons are up and I have a vegetable spaghetti squash that is an inch long!

Tomorrow, I'll be starting new lettuce seedlings, second season tomatoes and repotting the extra tomatoes -- I give them away to co-workers.

And I think I'll plant some okra in the chicken yard to give them shade.
I mentioned doing this last summer, and Alan thought I was crazy!!
But, I still think it's a great idea!! :) Will be curious to see how yours do!

Tomorrow I'm going to go visit my neighbor a mile away as the raven flies. I'll be taking some seeds to plant in his garden.

As Digit calls it, goopp. gardening on other people's property!

Today I put in:
the last of the 200 tomatoes
50 tomatillos
4200 onions
marigolds in the Broccoli for attracting god insects
24 raspberries (26 to go!)

Weeded the beets
and ran two lines of irrigation...whew!

I have 5 California wonder peppers, 1 Rutgers heirloom tomato, 1 Lemonboy heirloom tomato, and 1 marigold left to put into the ground today. Once those are in the ground, my 2012 planting is DONE!

(Though my husband pointed out to me today a nice spot to plant some late corn....)

And, after those early greens and lettuce come out - there will be room for some greenbeans!

And, after the broccoli and early cabbage can be pulled you really need some zucchini & summer squash to fill that space. Better get those seeds started in 2 or 3 weeks. And, And, And . . .

:) Steve :P
biding his time waiting out this crummy weather - made a commitment to plant out the tomatoes on thursday!

Yep, I have things that I want to hurry up so I can begin planting the winter garden, mostly beginning in July.
