    Growing beets

    I am ashamed to call myself a gardener. I can't grow beets. Beets of all things. What am I doing wrong? I get beautiful tops and non existent roots. I need to solve this problem because I have beet seeds on the way. I didn't even attempt last year.

    What can't you grow??

    Ok, everyone has one or two plants that just defy them. No matter how hard you try they just don't do what you want. Mine are BEETS I get beautiful tops but no big root. Every other root crop, no problem.

    Winter cover crops

    Does anyone grow a winter cover crop? I am trying to figure which is best for zone 6. I am looking into winter rye but it seems it can cause some issues. What about a cover crop that can be harvested for a food source. Educate me people. :D:D

    This is the time of season I dread. It can be tricky sometimes. These are just a few of the seedlings I have started. The others are still under lights, too young. We have Mountain Princess tomatoes, Silver Fir tomatoes, various flowers, Basil, Parsley, onions, Brussels Sprouts and others.
