I made these for dinner tonight and they turned out so well that I just had to share. I used tomato powder that I made from some dried cherry tomatoes and basil that I dried. I put the recipe on my blog for anyone who wants it...
I just took a video of the ducks (including Buddy, the duck that Old Guy gave me) and put it on YouTube. If anyone wants to see trained ducks (or am I the one who's trained?) go check it out here .
My friend in Oklahoma sent me a picture of a bug that she's been having problems with on her pumpkins. I don't recognize it so I'm hoping y'all can help. It's not the best picture, I'm trying to get her to send me a close up.
My squash fritter recipe might end up in a new e-book!! I know, it's not that big a deal, but I'm excited about it. Here's a link to the recipe on my blog so you can tell me what you think.

It's time to start thinking about my fall/winter garden here in Texas. Here's my most recent blog post on just that topic.

And here's a cool link to help know what to plant when. Just type in your zip code...
Last night I was sitting on my bed, checking my email, when I heard this strange POP noise. For a minute I thought the neighbor was shooting off fireworks. Then I noticed a sickening smell starting to permeate my room. :sick
I turned on the light and saw that the window on my incubator was...
We picked our first Sugar Baby watermelon yesterday. It was only about 2 pounds, but it was very sweet and had a great texture. Since hubby has hone hog wild with the watermelon this year (he planted nearly 100 hills!) I'm wondering if there's anything to do with watermelons besides eat them...
This story just broke today. Some special kind of bermuda grass has mutated and produced enough cyanide gas to kill 15 cows that had just been let onto the pasture. There's some debate as to whether the grass is GMO or an F1 hybrid (it's sterile, which leads me to believe that the genes have...
I decided that I wanted to make some tomato paste, but I didn't feel like canning it once I was done with the cooking, so I spread it on the tray that came with my dehydrator and made myself some tomato leather. I just pulled it off once it wasn't sticky anymore, tore it into smallish pieces...
I have had the absolute worst luck with technology in the last 2 weeks. First my tablet committed suicide, then one of the kids spilled something in the computer. Hubby let me check my FB page from his iphone a few times, but he was afraid I might kill that too. Now we finally have the computer...
Just finished a blog post. It really has nothing to do with the garden, but I thought I'd share anyway.

Hubby got me more presents tonight! I now have 10 new Blue Ameraucana chicks and 6 new Black Copper Maran chicks! With the 4 Wheaten Maran chicks and the 1 BCM he got me last week I'm back up to 21 chicks.
Y'all may remember a little rant I had a while back about my in-laws...
Well, this week my hubby's sister, mother, and grandmother are coming to visit. They are all a little bit wacky, but I love them.
They will eat anything I make, not being the picky type. :D
They are getting a room at a...
