    I am using peonies for my daughters wedding and I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck with cutting peonies in bud form or are they able to refrigerate and keep longer? Also, any suggestions on how to rid them of the ants that so dearly love a peony?

    okra seed question

    Think I'll try that freezer method. I planted okra a week or so ago and not warm enough to come up. I like to get a jump on okra so I can have it as quick as possible. Sounds like a good way to trick those seeds!

    This is me, headred, with a duck I just had to re-home, Ringo. I keep ducks in my city backyard and keep a nice sized garden too. I'm about to open the fence so the ducks can have a party!

    I pick mine green and let them dry inside. Seems I get more this way. I do let them get plenty big before I pick.

    Dogs and Ducks

    I got some free lattice off craigslist and have fenced everything that ducks and dogs can reach. Its great! But took me a few months to get everything built and they sure ate a bunch of stuff in the meantime. Good luck!

    Salsa recipe to can

    I agree with "obsessed" on the ingredients. I made this the other day and canned it. I did a quick blend of the ingredients (so makes it smooth if you like that) and then simmered it for about 20 or 30 minutes. Then pop into jars and water bath for about 30 minutes. Add or subtract those...

    I pick mine and let them dry. I keep them in a sealed jar so don't know much about freezing them.

    Me too! Let's see, what came first, the duck or the garden?? Do I have ducks to create compost or do I have the garden to feed the ducks?? I'm sooo torn as to who to feed the leftovers to, the ducks or the compost pile??? I'm so confused!

    if you only had 2 cups of black currants what would you do?

    A few weeks ago I made currant jelly and mixed it with some mulberries.....fabulous. I, too, only had a couple of cups of currants so I rounded it out with the mulberries.
