Hey Pond People, I need help! Pond Pix Added

We have been blessed with taking over the care and maintenance of our aquarium clients 5-tiered garden pond. I have several small container ponds here at home and am in the process of repotting some of my pond plants to move to his pond. We ordered fabric pots to use and my question is: Does...

    A Confession to make

It was a bad garden season (2008) for me also. By the time that I had gotten the cast off of my right arm, the "hayfield" we live on had reclaimed my flower beds. We'd been in a drought the last year or so and the red clay was worse than concrete so there was no digging the huge clumps of grass...

    New Vanda Orchid, Pachara Delight

Dawn here! :frow It's been totally hectic here with Skip/doc_gonzo being back at work. We plant our Vandas in the wooden slat baskets (for larger plants) or clay posts occasionally (for smaller ones). We use either Schultz or Better-Gro Orchid Mixes for planting. The Better-Gro link also has...

    Verbascum question

Yes, those "berry-looking" things are the seed pods. If you let the seed pods dry on the plant, they should self-seed for you. If you decide to try seeding them for next year, wait until the seed pods are completely dry before you harvest the seeds. Hope this is some help! Dawn

    Herbs and not Herbs...

:th And Skip wonders why I don't trust anyone to mess with our yard or animals! We had a friend/neighbor help us mow our front yard 2 weeks ago...you'd think that upright boards around a big patch of Oregano, on a hillside, would be safe...he mowed it to the ground with the weed eater than ran...

    Freezer Jelly Recipe?

Thanks for the replies, everyone! Since I don't have pectin or small jars on hand, right now, todays pickings will be sugared and put into zip-lock baggies and go directly to the freezer. I used to do tons of canning when I was a kid, between grandmom and my mom putting up the gardens every...
